Featured Flower: Paperwhites

One of the earliest bulbs to come up here in Sonoma is the paperwhite narcissus.  It is associated with spring, rebirth, new beginnings, and good luck.  With its delicate white form and sweet heavenly scent, just one stem of paperwhites can be a cherished addition to any room.  Here the suns streams in, lighting the flower petals from behind.  The pure white light reminds one of fresh sheets drying in the sun, or the billowing of a white sail on a blue-grey sea—it is a hopeful signal of spring days to come.
