Featured Food: Walnuts
Slow Cooker Walnut Oatmeal
Ingredients:
1 Cup chopped walnuts
3 Cups whole milk (low fat milk or coconut milk are other options)
1 Cup steel cut oats
1 Tbs muscovado sugar
2 Tsp cinnamon
A pinch of salt
Method:
Spray inside of a 3-quart slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray. Combine all ingredients except walnuts and put into the slow cooker. Heat on lowest setting for six to eight hours. When ready to serve, stir well and sprinkle walnuts over the top. Serves two hungry people.
