Meyer Lemon Sore Throat and Cough Remedy
I’ve been sick for the last few days. So, dear readers, here’s my now tried and true lemon sore throat and cough remedy recipe:
Ingredients:
1/2 lemon, juiced (about 2 ounces)
2 ounces Limoncello di Sonoma (or other citrus liqueur)
2-4 ounces water (optional)
1 tablespoon honey
a (very small!) pinch of salt
Method:
Mix the Limoncello, lemon juice, and salt in a mug and heat in the microwave for about 45 seconds. (You can also do this on the stovetop in a little saucepan.) Take out and add the honey. Whisk to combine, then microwave for another 45 seconds. Drink.

Sonoma Fried Meyer Lemons
Meyer lemons grow well in the county, and the resources are for nurseries that will sell you a whole tree.
Ingredients:
2 Meyer lemons, thinly sliced (about 1/8th inch thick)
1/4 Cup all-purpose flour (or rice flour)
1/2 Tsp sea salt
1 Cup coconut oil (or other vegetable oil)
1 Tbsp dried rosemary
1/2 Tsp black pepper
1 Egg
Method:
Beat the egg in a bowl and set aside. Combine flour, salt, and spices in a second bowl and mix together. Dip lemon slices in egg and then dredge them in the flour mixture, coating both sides. Fry the lemons in oil (at approximately 350 to 375 degrees F) for about a minute. Flip once and cook for 1 additional minute. Remove and drain on paper towels. Serve immediately or a room temperature. Great with fish and vegetable dishes.
